Music Theory

Doctor (PhD), musicologist, music teacher, ethnomusicologist, lecturer at Saints Cyril and Methodius Veliko Tarnovo University. She is graduated from the musical school in Pleven (piano class), Academy of Music and Dance Arts in Plovdiv (Musical Pedagogy).

She worked for two years as a music teacher in general education, and as an assistant in the disciplines of music theory and solfeggio at Veliko Tarnovo University (since 1985). Later she taught methods of musical education in general education and the history of Bulgarian music. She also gave lectures on music theory subjects at Taraclia State University in Moldova (2006-2010). She defended her doctoral thesis on the topic: “Preservation of the Musical and Folklore Practice of the Bulgarian Diaspora in Moldova with the Help of General Music Education” (2014). Author of more than 50 scientific publications, author and compiler of collections: “Bulgarian Folk Songs from Past Centuries”, “In the Glory of St. Cyril and Methodius. Songs and chants”, “Children, Song and Play: Games with Songs in the Bulgarian Folk Tradition”.
