Levashev Yevgeny

Music Theory

Yevgeny Levashev is a professor of P.I. Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatory. He is the chief scientific worker of the Russian State Institute of Art Studies, Doctor of Art Studies.

The scientific and creative work of Yevgeny Levashev is divided into artistic and practical, as well as scientific and researching.

With the help of Levashev`s scientific restorations and reconstructions the following theatre productions were held: opera of V.Pashkevich “Mean” (B.Pokrovsky Moscow State Academic Chamber Music Theatre), M. Glinka’s opera  “A Life for the Tsar” (Bolshoi Theatre of Russia), different variants of reconstructions of A.Borodin’s opera “Prince Igor” (theatres of Vilnius, Berlin, Milan, Moscow), the first and the second author’s versions of the opera “Boris Godunov” by Mussorgsky (theatres of Moscow, Verona, Berlin), Glinka’s opera “Ruslan and Lyudmila” (Bolshoi Theatre of Russia) and others.

Yevgeny Levashev is the author of more than 70 research works among which there are editions of series “Russian Musical Art Heritage”, “History of Russian Music” in 10 volumes, “Works on the History of Russian Religious Music” and others.
